3D Holographic Interface for Windows 10

Published - 27 Jan 2015

Microsoft has announced Holographic support for Windows 10. A wireless "HoloLense" headset is required in order to bring the augmented reality into your lounge room. No firm date has been announced for the release but Microsoft is planting its stake in the ground as to what can be expected.

The headset itself is wireless and self-contained, so there's no need to tether it to a PC, console, smartphone or anything else. The headset has transparent lenses that Microsoft says will make the illusion rock-solid.

Back in 2009 we hacked together a short tech concept video which imagined the use of this interface as a car design facility for sim driving.
